Amsterdam is home to the tallest hybrid wooden building in the Netherlands. The partner for the edges and facade was mbX, furnishing the building with fibreglass-reinforced edges and facade. Its long lifespan makes the facade durable, wear-resistant and low-maintenance.
Because mbX is not dependent on the elements of traditional steel reinforcement, extremely thin (low-resource) elements can be produced in thicknesses as small as 20 millimetres.Because of the long lengths of 3.5 m¹ per element, the elements for HAUT were made in a thickness of 30 millimetres and cast in a mould with a corrugated pattern. In total, mbX produced 2,600 m¹ of elements and is responsible for the complete scope of HAUT, from the engineering of the elements and the development of the special suspension structure to its production and assembly.
